Size : H5.2cm W9.8cm
A small celadon bowl fired during the Goryeo Dynasty.
It features a low profile with a slightly flared body and a short foot ring.
The body is decorated with two flower and leaf motifs executed in black slip using the "Slip-trailed technique" a method where slip is squeezed from a fine nozzle to create raised relief designs.
Unlike the inlaid designs that characterize most Goryeo celadon, examples featuring this slip-trailed technique are extremely rare.
The raised, three-dimensional quality and the translucent appearance of the lines—distinctive features of the slip-trailed technique offer a unique aesthetic appeal not found in inlay work.
The areas where the slip has worn away, leaving behind brown traces, add a pleasing visual character to the piece.
The overall celadon glaze is relatively vibrant and highly vitreous, displaying distinct crackle-glazed patterns.
The piece is fully glazed, including the interior of the foot ring, and bears the marks of the three large stone supports mark used during firing a characteristic feature of Goryeo celadon.
There is no conspicuous flaws.Although the surface is slightly aged, it has a good luster.
