Goryeo Celadon Jarl with Inlaid Seven Treasures Pattern

This is a small celadon jar fired during the late Goryeo period.
It features a rounded body with broad, prominent shoulders.
The mouth curves inward from the shoulder, suggesting it was originally fitted with a lid.
The small surface is richly decorated with inlaid patterns.
The primary motif is the "Seven Treasures Pattern" (interlocking circles), meticulously crafted with black inlaid for the outlines and white inlay filling the centers.
A floral motif sits within each space between the circles, notably, the flower stamens are rendered using rare red inlaid.
The lower section employs a reverse inlay technique filling the background with white inlaid and incorporates red inlay into the lotus petal designs.
A pattern of small dots encircles the rim.
It has a small foot, and the base bears a relatively large mark left by a kiln support stone.
Pieces featuring the Seven Treasures Pattern so extensively are rare, because the circles extend infinitely, they symbolize harmony, peace, and unbroken, auspicious connections.

There is one area where the surface glaze has flaked off. While there are spots around the rim where the inlay is missing, these appear to be flaws from the firing process. The piece is likely an excavated item, and the weathering (devitrification) around the base is somewhat pronounced.
