Goryeo Dynasty Celadon Vase with Inlaid Flower and Animal Handles

This is a celadon inlaid bottle from the mid-Goryeo dynasty.
The bottle has a narrow waist and bulging shoulders, and when viewed from above it is not circular but rather has two flat sides.
This shape is particularly common in ceramics from the Korean Peninsula.
The mouth is wide open at the top, with a slightly raised rim.
There are two handles on the shoulders, in the shape of a long-tailed lizard-like animal.
Animal handles are designed to ward off evil, and when attached to containers they are meant to protect the contents inside, and were used by people of the heirloom class or higher.
Simple, dignified floral and butterfly designs are inlaid in white on the two flat sides of the body.
Even among Goryeo celadon inlaid with ornate inlays, such a simple piece is very rare and is therefore a luxurious piece.
The foot is a ring-shaped base, and the clay is visible on the inside, with wheel marks remaining.
There is a step on the side of the foot, from which vertical marks can be seen, which appear to have been made with a spatula.
The entire exterior is covered in a grayish-blue celadon glaze, and the inside also covers about two-thirds of the way up.
The flat jar shape, animal handles, and dignified floral motifs are arranged in a very balanced manner, and combined with the tone of the glaze, this piece exudes great nobility.

This is an excavated item and although there is some deterioration and dirt on the surface due to the passage of time, it still has a nice, old-fashioned feel to it.There is no conspicuous flaws.
