This celadon vase was made at the Yue ware during the Northern Song dynasty.
It has a round body known as a celestial sphere, a long neck and a Plate like mouth.
It has a high foot and a wide, inverted V-shaped shape.
The bottom is exposed and there are three marks left where supports were attached to prevent it from touching the kiln, and it is rare even at the Yue ware to find an item with these marks.
The entire vessel is covered in a green celadon glaze unique to Yue ware, known as a hisoku, giving the surface a lustrous shine.
The glazed surface is characterized by large and small crackles along the curves.
This piece is an excavated item, and has a unique, old texture.
Over time, the area around the mouth and part of the body have shrunk along the flow of the glaze, and the clay visible through these shrunk pieces creates a new look.
Yue ware ceramics with this type of narrow neck and high foot are rare, and were used as ritual vessels.
There is no conspicuous flaws. There is aged deterioration on the entire surface, but there is some luster.
