Tang Dynasty Xing ware White Porcelain Jar with inscription "Daying"

This white porcelain jar was fired in the Xing ware at the end of the Tang dynasty.
It has a simple jar shape, tapering at the bottom and bulging at the shoulders.
It is made of uniform thickness and flows smoothly into a low rim.
The base is flat with a slight depression in the centre, and the inscription "大盈" is inscribed within it.
"大盈" refers to the Daying Treasure House, a private treasury established by Tang emperors. It was managed by eunuchs and housed treasures and valuables donated from all over the country for special expenses and rewards within the court.
Pottery bearing this inscription is thought to have a close connection to the Daying Treasure House.
The vase is made from porcelain-like white clay that produces a high-pitched sound when lightly tapped, typical of northern kilns.
A translucent glaze is applied to the entire outside, while the inside is unglazed, allowing the clay to be seen.
The carefully applied glaze has a slightly milky white hue, and the smooth, beautiful luster is unique to the refined white porcelain of the late Tang dynasty.
It is precisely because of its simple shape that the smooth beauty of Xing ware can be seen clearly.

There is no conspicuous flaws. It has good luster throughout and is in good condition.
