Yuan Dynasty Celadon Jade Object Vase

This celadon vase was made at an official kiln in the early Yuan dynasty.
This item is from the Yuan dynasty's official kilns, and is a descendant of the Southern Song dynasty's official kilns.
The outer shape is a square pillar, with patterns carved in relief at the four corners and a circular opening along the long axis.
The shape of the vase imitates the cong found on jade vessels, and it was originally carved from stone.
The cylindrical hole is said to symbolize heaven, and the square outer edge symbolizes earth, and it is also said to be a symbol of the union of heaven and earth.
It is thought to have been used in rituals and ceremonies such as sacrifices and funerals since ancient China.
This item is small among these, with a long vertical shape.
In fact, even small ritual vessels are considered to be highly valued.
The black clay, which is rich in iron, is intricately crafted using a mold, and the glaze is applied tightly to the inside of the vase except for the bottom.
The gray-blue glaze of the Southern Song official kiln lineage has a slightly greenish tint, suggesting this is an item from the early Yuan dynasty.
This is a very beautiful piece with crackle glazes of various sizes that follow the unevenness of the surface.
