Size : H3.7cm W13.5cm
A celadon basin fired at the Jun ware during the Northern Song dynasty.
The wide-mouthed, low vessel was used as a brush washbasin or a dish.
The foot flares out downwards, and three small nail marks remain on the bottom where a support fixture was held up.
This feature is very similar to Ru ware.
It is coated with a pale blue celadon glaze known as "Moon-white glaze," which has a whitish tinge due to the opacity unique to Jun kilns.
Jun kiln is related to the Northern Song Ru kiln, and the Moon-White glaze in particular is reminiscent of Ru kiln.
The rim and the edge of the foot, through which the clay shows through, are lustrous, and combined with the moist glaze, this piece exudes great elegance.
There is no conspicuous flaws. It is in good condition with a moist luster overall.
