Joseon Dynasty White Glaze Small Tea Bowl (Katade Type)

A Katade type tea bowl fired in the late Joseon Dynasty.
It has a slightly large, simple bowl shape with a rounded step on the inside and a slight depression in the centre.
As is typical of a late piece, it is well-proportioned and free of distortion.
The glaze is slightly greenish, and was fired at a high temperature for a hard finish.
The glaze was intentionally applied unevenly, creating a variety of looks with thick areas where the glaze has dripped and thin areas where the base is visible.
The entire glaze extends to the foot, excluding the surface on which it is placed, and is a type of katade-type tea bowl commonly seen in the south.
There are two cracks on the body which have been repaired with gold , and one of the chipped rim has also been repaired with gold.
Although it does not come with a box, it was brought to Japan early on and has been treasured as a tea bowl.

-About the Cracks
Long Crack: A long crack runs from the rim to the center. It extends to the outer surface and has been repaired with gold from the rim to the center step. The area next to the long crack is a crack in the glaze.
Reverse-T Crack: A crack runs from the rim to the waist. It extends to the outer surface and has been repaired with gold.

Although the surface is slightly aged, It has a nice texture that makes you feel the passage of time.
