Late Southern Song Dynasty Celadon Bronzeware-Shaped Bottle with Fenix Handles

This celadon bottle was fired in an Guan ware between the end of the Southern Song dynasty and the beginning of the Yuan dynasty.
It has a wide top base, a bulging body, and a wide, trumpet-shaped mouth.
Its shape imitates ancient Chinese bronzeware, and was used as a drinking vessel for rituals.
The body is fitted with small studs, and the neck has a pair of ears in the shape of a phoenix.
Shapes imitating bronzeware have been made frequently since the Song dynasty, but this item, with its phoenix handle, is highly creative and dates from the end of the Southern Song dynasty to the beginning of the Yuan dynasty.
The traditional shape is combined with the trendy phoenix ears, giving it a unique and interesting look.
The bottom has a thin layer of black clay exposed, about 1mm thick, and the entire bottle is covered in a slightly whitish celadon glaze.
This glaze is called "ice-crackle-glazed" because smaller crackle glazed pieces overlap larger crackle glazed pieces, looking like broken ice.
Crackle glazed pieces are created when the glaze is pulled apart as it cools after firing due to the difference in shrinkage rates of the clay and glaze.
Ice-crackle glazed pieces are easy to reproduce in modern kilns where temperature control is easy, but in the days when glazes and kilns were unstable, this was difficult and not many remain.

There is one chip on the bottom.There is a slight loss of glaze on the side of the bottom.There is a small aged deterioration on the surface, but overall it is luster and in good condition.
