Southern Song Dynasty Celadon Bowl

The body is a straight, bowl-shaped body that is slightly tapered at the waist, with a wide, plate-like opening.
Plate-mouth bowls were relatively common in celadon from the Southern Song Dynasty, and were used to wash brushes or to serve sweets.
The bottom is well-balanced and made thin, about 1mm thick, with the black clay exposed from the tatami mat.
There are small marks where the glaze had stuck to the kiln, and it is clear that this piece was particularly glazed all the way to the edges.
A slightly grayish celadon glaze is applied to the entire piece except for the bottom.
The glaze surface is crackle-glazed, with large, clear cracks on the wide parts of the surface and fine cracks on the corners and edges, a characteristic of Southern Song official kilns of this period.
Also, if you look closely at the celadon glaze on the inside, you can see beautiful green streaks.
The Southern Song official kilns were that fired ceramics for the emperor and the imperial court, but most of the pottery they produced was bottles, so bowls like this one are relatively rare.
Although it is a simple vase, its well-proportioned shape and the edge that is not distorted or drooping show that it was made with great skill.

There is no conspicuous flaws.It has good luster throughout and is in good condition.
