Celadon Bottle with bamboo shoot (Jiaotanxia guan ware)

A celadon bottle fired in an official kiln during the Southern Song dynasty.
Southern Song official kilns produced pottery for use by the Southern Song emperors and imperial courts, and are of higher quality than pottery from private kilns.
The bottom of the piece is stamped with the seal of "Jiaotanxia Official Kiln," and the pottery-making techniques were of the highest quality even among Southern Song official kilns.
Jiaotanxia is said to have been located on the outskirts of Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, during the Southern Song dynasty.
It has a bulging body, a long neck and a wide, curved mouth, and the neck and body have a string-like pattern.
The body is not simply spherical, but bulges downward like a bulb, and there are three string patterns on the body and two on the neck, which is the typical shape of a Southern Song string pattern bottle.
The base is high and there are two holes in the base. It is thought that these holes were for hanging a string when carrying it around.
The thick celadon glaze creates large crackle-glazed surfaces and there is also green crackle-glazed on the inner layer, making it double crackle-glazed.
The glaze accumulates from the mouth to the neck, giving it a beautiful deep color, and the color looks different depending on the angle you view it from, making it a beautiful celadon that feels alive.
