Joseon Dynasty White Porcelain Water Dropper with Birdface Design
Joseon Dynasty White Porcelain Water Dropper with Birdface Design
Period : Late Joseon Dynasty(1392 - 1897),Korea / 18-19C
Size : H6.6cm W7.2cm
This white porcelain water dropper was made in the late Joseon Dynasty.
It has a rounded body with slightly bulging shoulders, and in the center of the top is decorated with a face that appears to be a bird's face.
The bird's face has a nose that runs through it and leads to a sharp beak, and the eyes are colored blue with gosu.
Water was poured through the hole at the top of the bird's face and poured out from the beak.
The glaze has a warm tone and fine crazing occurs all over, with the uneven color of the crazing creating a nice atmosphere.
The bottom is deeply carved and glaze is also applied to the inside.
Although it has a slightly eerie expression, it is a mysteriously fascinating water dropper that you can't help but stare at.
There is no conspicuous flaws. It is in good condition with a moist luster overall.
