Goryeo Celadon Round Shape Water Dropper with Knead Design

A knead water drop fired during the Goryeo period.
The knead technique, which involves mixing various types of clay, began in China during the Tang dynasty and was created in the Korean peninsula during the Goryeo period.
Knead pottery from the Goryeo period is made using three types of clay - celadon clay, white clay, and red clay - and is then coated with a nearly transparent celadon glaze and fired.
This creates beautiful marble-like patterns with clearly separated white, gray, and black colors.
This item is a water dropper for pouring water into the inkstone of a calligraphy tool, and has a simple round shape that makes the most of the knead pattern.
There is a water inlet at the top and a short, cylindrical spout around the shoulder.
The wonderful thing about this knead is that the knead pattern swirls beautifully from the center of the top.
Most knead patterns are arranged more irregularly, but there are few that swirl as beautifully as this one.
The bottom retains the stone grain marks from the firing process, and the corners of the bottom show beautiful green pools due to the celadon glaze.
Since different types of clay are mixed in Neriage, the difference in shrinkage rates makes it prone to damage during firing, and examples are extremely rare.

This item also has signs of having a broken spout repaired, but it still retains its shape and is an excellent piece.There is a small aged deterioration on the surface, but overall it is luster and in good condition.
