This is a Old Imari teapot fired in the late Edo period.
Old Imari refers to Imari ware made in the Edo period, and is used to distinguish it from modern Imari ware.
It has a rounded body with a flat top and a flat handle.
The top surface, including the lid, is decorated with four layers of chrysanthemums in relief, and the lid has a small knob.
The knob is slightly off-center, but this is also cute.
The body is decorated with a floral design that is relief engraved and blue-and-white, and the shading of the blue-and-white gives it a three-dimensional finish.
The base of the handle also has a detailed design of chrysanthemums in blue and white.
It has a typical Imari Teapot shape, but the three-dimensional finish is achieved not only with blue and white, but also with relief engraving and pasted flowers, making it a simple yet timeless design.
Because it is an old item, there are some signs of wear and dirt, but the overall item is shiny and in good condition.
There is a small crack on the lid knob, but this is thought to have occurred during firing.
