This bottle was made in the mid-Goryeo dynasty.
The base is modeled after a gourd and has a distinctive long mouth.
The gourd shape was used in China and the Korean peninsula for holding water or wine.
The surface of the vessel is smeared with iron clay and three patterns are engraved on the top and bottom of the gourd. A thin layer of celadon glaze is then applied on top and the vessel is fired.
The pattern is created by squeezing white clay from the narrow opening, creating letters with flowing lines that appear three-dimensional.
In places the clay shows through the iron mud, and the iron mud curls up due to contraction during firing, creating a tasteful landscape.
Goryeo iron-coated items made using the squeezing technique are rare and valuable.

There is no conspicuous flaws. There is peeling on the surface, but some of it has come off during firing, while others have come off due to deterioration.
