Joseon Dynasty White Porcelain Stem Cup with Hexagonal Bottom
Joseon Dynasty White Porcelain Stem Cup with Hexagonal Bottom
Period : Late Joseon Dynasty(1392 - 1897),Korea / 18-19C
Size : H6cm W6.5cm
This is a small white porcelain stem cup made in the late Joseon Dynasty.
Despite its small size, the upper part of the bowl is well-proportioned, with a straight line from the bottom to the waist, and a slight curve from there to the mouth.
The pedestal has a very thin high foot, and the bottom is hexagonal, connecting the round shape of the bowl.
This hexagonal high foot cup is a common shape for white porcelain from the Yi Dynasty, but it is rare to find one made as thin as this one.
The glaze is applied to the entire surface, except for the installation surface, and the glaze is applied to the inside of the bottom.
The glossy white porcelain glaze looks like blue-white porcelain with a slight bluish tinge, and together with the shape, it gives a very refreshing impression.
A nice view with some sunspots here and there.
At 60g, this adorable tall cup is very light and fits comfortably in your hand, and is the perfect size to serve as a choko.
There is no conspicuous flaws. It has good luster throughout and is in good condition.Comes with a wooden storage box.
