Goryeo Celadon Cylindrical Covered Box with Inlaid chrysanthemum arabesque Design

Celadon Cylindrical Covered Box made in Goryeo Dynasty.
It was a small cylindrical container with a lid that was used to hold medicine.
Similar items were engraved with the signature of the office in charge of medicine for the Goryeo royal family.
The body and lid are inlaid with black and white chrysanthemum arabesque patterns in a well-balanced manner, and the border between the lid and body is surrounded by thunder patterns.
The inlay technique is a typical technique from the Korean peninsula, in which after a pattern is carved, black and white clay, which is different from the base material, is embedded to represent the pattern.
The black clay swells a little due to the difference in shrinkage rate during firing, making it look like a failure, but it actually becomes an interesting sight.
The inside of the vessel has strong potter's wheel marks, and the light and shade of the glaze gives it an elegant and interesting look.
Although we often see short covered boxes as containers for storing medicine, there are few people who collect cylindrical medicine containers, and they are rare items that do not often appear on the market.

There are several places where the soil has peeled off on the bulging part of the black inlay. There is a small chip in the glaze on the top of the body. There is discoloration on the surface due to dirt, but it is glossy.
