Yuan Dynasty Longquan Celadon Censer with Three Legs
Yuan Dynasty Longquan Celadon Censer with Three Legs
Period : Yuan Dynasty,China(1271 - 1368) / 13C
Size : H5.1cm W10.8cm
A celadon Censer made in the Longquan kiln in the Yuan dynasty.
A flat, bulging torso with a wide open mouth.
The bottom swells slightly upward, and three very low legs are attached to connect from there.
This shape imitates ancient Chinese bronze ware and is made shorter.
On the bottom of the legs, the white-gray soil typical of the Ryusen kiln is exposed, giving it a slightly thicker shape.
The entire piece is covered with a generous amount of greyish-blue glaze, with large intrusions along the sharply curved shapes.
The incense burner is small and has no fancy decorations, but it has a calm appearance with a low center of gravity and well-proportioned pottery.
There is no conspicuous flaws. It has good luster throughout and is in good condition.
