Joseon Dynasty Cobalt-Blue Cylindrical Water Dropper
Joseon Dynasty Cobalt-Blue Cylindrical Water Dropper
Period : Late Joseon Dynasty(1392 - 1897),Korea / 18-19C
Size : H6.3cm W5.5cm
A Water Dropper made in the late Joseon Dynasty.
After applying white makeup to the base material in a cylindrical shape, cobalt is applied to the entire surface and a transparent glaze is applied.
The body has an elaborate design that makes it look uneven by drawing lines in the vertical direction.
There is a pouring spout on the top, and a spout that undulates in a cylindrical shape from the bottom of the body.
Cobalt was rare in the Joseon dynasty, and most of the blue and white wares had small designs.
For this reason, even if it was as small as this, it was considered to be of high value if it was applied to the entire surface.
It is a beautiful product without damage. There is some fading around the inlet due to pouring water.
