Goryeo Celadon House-Shaped Water Dropper with Knead Design

A water dropper made in the Goryeo Dynasty.
The Knead technique began in China in the Tang Dynasty and spread to the Korean Peninsula.
In China, two types of brown clay were mixed together and a brown glaze was applied and fired at a low temperature.
In the case of Goryeo, three types of celadon clay, white clay, and red clay are used, and they are fired with a nearly transparent celadon glaze.
As a result, a beautiful marble-like pattern is drawn in which white, gray, and black are clearly separated.
It imitates a pentagonal temple or pagoda and is built on a base with an intaglio lotus petal design.
The walls are carved with windows and other features, and the curved roof is also carved with tile patterns.
A water inlet is provided at one end of the roof and a water outlet is provided at the tip of the roof.
Water droppers were freely made in various shapes, and a small number of house shapes were made as motifs with beautiful scenery and strong presence.
Since Knead mixes different types of clay, it is easily damaged during firing due to the difference in shrinkage rate.

There is a small crack on the bottom, but it is a fired scratch, and there is no water leakage.A part of the surface is not glossy, but other than that, there is also a gloss.
