Celadon water dropper made in Goryeo.
The Korean peninsula's water drop culture has developed independently, and a wide variety of playful ceramics have been created.
This product is modeled after a tortoise, and has a lovely face on its small limbs.
The eyes are inlaid in black, and the shell is inlaid in black and white.
There is a water inlet in the center of the shell, and the water comes out from the tortoise mouth.
Tortoise are a symbol of longevity, and there is also a theory that their shells lead to the "ko", which is the first place to pass the imperial examination.
The whole is covered with a slightly grayish celadon glaze that is typical of Goryeo celadon, giving it a moist and calm atmosphere.
There is no conspicuous flaws. There are some aged deterioration on the whole surface, but there is luster.
