Goryeo Celadon Tortoise-Shaped Water Dropper with Incised

A celadon water dropper made in the Goryeo Dynasty.
Due to the development of calligraphy culture on the Korean Peninsula, the Water Dropper was popular as a calligraphy tool.
It was a simple function of pouring a small amount of water into the inkstone when printing ink, so it can be made into any shape.
The turtle shape like this product is one of the representative shapes.

Engravings and Incised are applied to the whole, and the face has clear eyes and nose, giving it a dignified expression like a dragon.
The carapace is irregularly carved with a large number of tortoise shell patterns, and the neck and legs are also carved with lines, giving it a lifelike feel.
A glossy and bright celadon glaze is applied to the entire piece, and when the glaze accumulates in the engravings, a dark green pattern emerges.
Leave 3 large nail marks on the bottom.
The water inlet is located in the center of the shell, and the water comes out of the turtle's mouth.
There is a recess between the front and back legs, making it very easy to hold, and it is well made not only as a design but also as a tool.

A part of the inside is peeled off, and it makes a small rattling sound when shaken, but there is no functional problem.There is no conspicuous flaws.It has good luster throughout and is in good condition.
