Period : Yuan Dynasty,China(1271 - 1368)/Ming Dynasty,China(1368 - 1644)
Size : H6.1mm W14.5mm
Tenmoku tea bowl made in Chizou kiln from the Yuan Dynasty to the Ming Dynasty.
The Chizou ware was the production area of tenmoku tea bowls following the Jian ware, and produced many unique tenmoku tea bowls.
Tenmoku tea bowls from Jishu kiln have white clay, are dense and thin, and produce a high-pitched sound when struck lightly.
The bowl shape is also straight, the mouth widens, and the base is small.
The inner surface has a small bulge in the tea reservoir, and a slightly deep depression to the tea cloth suri.
The large leaf pattern in the center of the pottery is made by baking a real leaf on top of Tenmoku glaze.
The leaf ash, which contains components such as silicic acid, remains on the surface of the tenmoku glaze, leaving the leaf veins white, yellow, brown, and blue when baked.
Compared to the black glazed surface, it feels a little rough to the touch.
It is a gem that makes you feel that there was a real leaf there.
There are chips on the bottom, but it is considered to be from the old days. There is a small aged deterioration on the surface, but overall it is luster and in good condition.
