Joseon Dynasty Ido-Shaped Tea Bowl with Iron Graze Spots
Period : Late Joseon Dynasty(1392 - 1897),Korea / 17-18C
Size : H7cm W14cm
This is a Goryeo tea bowl made in the late Joseon Dynasty.
It is also called the "Ido-Shaped Tea Bowl'' as it is modeled after the shape of the "Ido tea bowl'' made in the early Joseon Dynasty.
It is bowl-shaped with a slightly tall bottom and a gentle curve.
The glaze is a gray glaze-based white glaze, and the thicker parts of the glaze have a slightly greenish color.
By sprinkling iron glaze on the glaze, black markings are created, creating an interesting landscape on the otherwise monotonous white glaze.
This kind of artificial design is also typical of the late Joseon dynasty.
The exposed bottom is rough with dirt, and the thick, strong bottom and gentle bulge make you want to stroke it with your fingers.
It is in very good condition and can be used for dim sum.
There is no conspicuous flaws. It has good luster throughout and is in good condition.
