Goryeo Dynasty Celadon Jar and cover with Inlaid Sanskrit Characters

A celadon covered jar made in the Goryeo Dynasty.
The body is cylindrical and extends straight up, and has a flat lid that fits perfectly into the rim.
It looks like a cylindrical teabowl, but it is rather large and has four legs, so it is thought to be a pot.
The entire bowl is inlaid with black and white, and the two types of Sanskrit characters in the center of the body and lid should be noted.
Sanskrit is a character used in India, and has been passed down to Korea.
In the Goryeo Dynasty, there are examples of its use in roof tiles and bronze ware, but its use in celadon inlays is extremely rare.
Sanskrit characters are complicated because they combine vowels, symbols, and consonants, and details such as the meaning of the characters on this product are unknown.
The body is filled with chrysanthemum patterns between the Sanskrit characters, and the upper part is decorated with a renju pattern and the lower part with a lotus petal pattern.
The lid has four chrysanthemum patterns around the Sanskrit characters.
The foot has traces of a stone platform, and the whole is covered with a slightly grayish patina glaze, and crackle-glazed in some areas.
With the emergence of the Islamic regime, India began to import ceramics from Korea and China.
Therefore, it is thought that it was made for India or for Korean Buddhists.
