Qing Dynasty blue-white porcelain Covered Box
Period : Qing Dynasty,China(1616 - 1912) / 17-18C
Size : H9.5cm W10.9cm
A Covered Box of blue-white porcelain made in the Jingdezhen kiln in the Qing dynasty.
It is a cylindrical container with a lid, and is thought to have been used to store medicines and incense.
It has a simple shape like a barrel with a slightly bulging middle, and is thick and very sturdy.
The circle seen from above is almost a perfect circle, and there is no distortion in the meshing part of the lid. It is very elaborately made like the Qing Dynasty.
The outside is coated with a glassy white glaze, but the glaze tends to accumulate and the thicker areas emit a blue color due to the iron content.
The top of the lid is also slightly recessed toward the center, giving it a blue color and a very beautiful gradation.
The texture of the air bubbles in the glaze and the large penetration give expression to the simple vessel.
The inside and bottom are coated with a pure white glaze that is highly devitrifying, and another characteristic of the Qing dynasty is that the glaze is different from the outside.
There is no conspicuous flaws. It has good luster throughout and is in good condition.
