Southern Song Dynasty Guanware Celadon Bowl with Peach Shaped
Period : Southern Song dynasty,China(1127 - 1279) / 12-13C
Size : H4.7cm W14.6cm
A bowl made in an official kiln in the Southern Song dynasty.
It has an elongated peach shape, with a twisted stem attached to the body.
It is made thin and round from the body to the mouth, and the inner bottom bulges out one step.
In China, peaches were considered auspicious, such as immortality and longevity, and were popular among aristocrats.
The installation surface is made thin and exposed like a Southern Southern Song Guan ware, and the whole, except for that, is covered with a slightly grayish celadon glaze.
The glaze has the transparency of glass and crackle-glazed, and the density of small bubbles creates a sense of depth.
It has a beautiful expression peculiar to the celadon glaze of the Southern Song Dynasty Guan ware.
There is no conspicuous flaws. It has good luster throughout and is in good condition.
