Liao Dynasty Sancai Jar with Four Handles
Liao Dynasty Sancai Jar with Four Handles
Period : Liao Dynasty,China(916 - 1125) / 10-11C
Size : H10.9cm W9.6cm
Liao Sancai jar made in the Liao Dynasty.
It has a slightly distorted and bold vessel shape, but the ears are finely formed with fingers so that they taper from top to bottom.
Following the Tang sancai style, a white slip is applied to the substrate and a sancai glaze is applied.
The glazing is also bold, with a rustic product like the people of the grasslands.
Green glaze is applied to the body and brown glaze is applied to the ears.
The unevenness of the glaze and the fine crackle-glazing are an interesting expression.
There is one hairlines crack on the rim.Although the surface is slightly aged, it has a good luster.
