Southern Song Dynasty Celadon Brush Washer
Southern Song Dynasty Celadon Brush Washer
Period : Southern Song dynasty,China(1127 - 1279) / 13-14C
Size : H3.3cm W14.0cm
A celadon brush wash made in the Southern Song to Yuan dynasties.
The body is slightly rounded and enters the inside at the mouth edge.
There is a spout on the edge of the mouth, and it is possible that it was used not only as a brush wash, but also as an inkhorn.
The side of the body is decorated with a calyx, and the spout looks like a turnip when viewed from above.
A supporting firing tool is used, and the entire body, including the base, is thickly coated with green-blue celadon, and the entire body is covered with beautiful ice-crack-like crackle-glazed.
It is thought to have been made in a private kiln, but the technique of Guan ware's pottery making can be felt everywhere, and it is very elaborately made.
There is no conspicuous flaws. It has good luster throughout and is in good condition.
