Period : Song dynasty,China(960 - 1279) / 11-12C
Size : H2.1cm W24.9cm
A Sancai plate made in a Cizhou kiln in the Song dynasty.
It is a very large plate of about 25 cm and has a flat shape.
Song sancai is lead-glazed multicolored pottery, descended from Tang sancai and Liao sancai.
Patterns are drawn on the white clay of the Cizhou ware system using vivid glazes such as green, white, yellow, brown, and blue.
Although it is called three colors, four colors were sometimes used.
This dish has a flower pattern engraved with a spatula to prevent the colors from mixing and to make the color separation clear.
On the other hand, the blue glaze that serves as the background has a white circle that is blurred out.
It is a beautiful large plate that looks like a flower blooming in the snow at night.
This is an excavated item. There is aged deterioration on the overall surface. The surface of the base material has deteriorated and dirt adheres to it when touched, so care must be taken when handling it.
