Goryeo Celadon Covered Box with Inlaid Cinnabar Chrysanthemum Design

This is a celadon covered box made during the Goryeo period.
It is divided into upper and lower parts and has a shallow cavity inside, so it was used by women as a container for cosmetics, wax fat, incense, etc.
Most of them have an oblong abacus shape when viewed from the side, but this one has an unusual rounded shape.
Since Covered Boxes were loved by women, many of them are decorated with inlaid patterns.
On the top, a large chrysanthemum flower is drawn in the center, right down to the leaves, and the petals are colored red with precious copper glaze.
Lotus petals are often placed around it, but this item leaves a space and is adorned with 13 chrysanthemums, highlighting its elegance.
There is also a thunder pattern inlaid pattern all around the sides, creating a sharp border.
The lower tier is also decorated with 14 chrysanthemums to create a sturdy structure.
There are 3 silica storn marks left on the bottom.
The color of the inlay is clearly deep, and the lovely shape and quality of the pattern give it a particularly feminine impression.

There are some scratches on the bottom.Although the surface is slightly aged, it has a good luster.
