Goryeo Dynasty Celadon Mishima Bottle with Inlaid Fish Design

This is a celadon inlaid bottle made at the end of the Goryeo period.
The body is round and swollen, the neck is narrow and constricted, and the mouth is slightly widened to make it easier to pour alcohol.
Patterns are applied to the surface of the vessel using a technique called inlay, which involves filling the carved grooves with black and white clay.
Among these, the one with repeated grooves using stamps is called Mishima in Japan and is a very popular item.
On the neck, small chrysanthemum patterns are placed in a chevron pattern, with a crane drawn below and a water bird further below.
The wide body has a wave pattern all over it, and several types of fish are swimming inside.
Not only are these fish shown in their entirety, but some have their heads and tails sticking out, giving the impression that they are jumping through the water.
In addition, there is a dot pattern on the waist, a chrysanthemum pattern on the side of the bottom, and a dot pattern on the inside of the mouth.Border lines are drawn around each design, and the entire surface of the vessel is inlaid.
Mishima mainly uses inlays to cover the entire surface of the vessel, but it is rare to find one that depicts such a wide variety of patterns.

There is some soil adhering to a part of the vessel surface. Also, about one-third of the waist has deteriorated and turned brown.
