Southern Song Dynasty Cizhou-type Ware Brown Glazed Tea Bowl
Southern Song Dynasty Cizhou-type Ware Brown Glazed Tea Bowl
Period : Southern Song dynasty,China(1127 - 1279)
Size : H5.5cm W11cm
A tenmoku tea bowl made in a Cizhou-type ware during the Southern Song dynasty.
The whole is V-shaped, and like Tenmoku tea bowls, it is placed inside at the bottom edge of the rim, and that part forms a shallow groove that goes around the circumference of the bowl.
It has a carved bottom unlike the typical tenmoku bottom.
On the inside, glaze is applied to the entire surface, and on the outside, the glaze is applied up to the waist and exposed.
The pattern of glaze flow caused by applying the glaze twice gives a rustic atmosphere.
There is no conspicuous flaws.Although the surface is slightly aged, it has a good luster.
